2009 photo-a-day

here i go again with project 365.. last 2008, i only lasted until march and wasn't able to catch up. haha! pathetic i know.. but i'm hopeful this 2009.. maybe, just maybe, i can at least make it. lol! :) i think this is really a fun exercise to spruce up your creativity or tickle it a bit.  plus all the other folks doing the 365 are such an inspiration... :)  oh, 2009! i so fervently hope i complete you this time :D

happy holidays!

happy holidays, everyone!  i've been out of touch right after christmas because of some photography work we had for four straight days.. unfortunately, i got terribly sick on the 29th, which is why i had to miss our last wedding of the year :(
i've been sick since then and actually celebrated new year's eve in bed... oh well, at least i'm still alive and kicking! :D
so since i don't have a single photo of new year's eve... i think i'll just look back on what we did last christmas eve :)  awww... i really feel so bad for missing out last night's celebrations.. there were so much to photograph! :(  i guess i'll just admire your photos then .. leave me a link! :)
that's me and my evil clueless cook look.. haha :) and my trusty computers for the recipes! :) more on the link ;)
happy new year, friends!  cheers to a beautiful new 2009! :)

christmas eve tomorrow!  wow, time REALLY flies.  i can still remember everything we did last year during this season.  now everything went by so fast, i can't believe that i'll be making christmas dinner again tomorrow.

busy day it will be - going jogging with the hubby early morning then on to prepare for several entrees that i so hope i can pull off.  we'll be having rib eye roast, three cheese lasagna with italian sausage and my kids' favorite carbonara.  eeek!! i forgot to pick up the dory fish i reserved at the grocery today.  going back for that tomorrow.  yipes!
anyways, i'm stoked and so excited for tomorrow that i can't sleep. lol! :)
let me just wish you guys a very merry christmas and a joyful new year!  be blessed! :D

lol..i've been so hooked on facebook and twitter for the past weeks and i just couldn't find the time to update this blogger blog blog :P

anyways, i'm feeling really sunny today and i'm happy because work is going quite well - PRAISE GOD. to Him be the Glory!!!

then my kids are doing good in school after hearing reports from their teachers.. :) Christmas is just around the corner! and even if i haven't even gone half way through my list, i'm still happy because i know i'd probly cram to shop and end up with better looking gifts. hehe!

hope you guys have a happy happy season :)

after 10 years..

i sorta had the mojo to scrap... :D wish i could like spend more time doing this.  i like sunday mornings :) i get to do something in between.. and today, i decided to use miss mint's kindergarten crafts coordinated kit (www.peppermintcreative.com) and scrap away :D

on we went to la union last oct 31st up until the 2nd of november for our yearly family reunion at la union.  my hubby's clan gets together during this time of the year and it's also a nice break for the family to enjoy the beach.  :)

i had a chance to play around with my new point and shoot camera - the panasonic lumix LX3! i'm telling you, this is one heck of a camera.  :D i'm so in love with it.  now my dslr gets to rest and work only during wedding shoots and other stints with metrophoto.
the family stayed at puerto de san juan in san juan, la union.  no choice actually, but i think this is the most decent you can find in LU.  after the lunch party/reunion, the children and i went on to lounge at the beach and enjoy nature... sweet :D  the hu
bby was busy chatting with the oldies so we went ahead.. hehe :)
see the hues of blue?  so perfect.  this is what you'll see right beside the resort.

the kids were busy playing and i was left watching them.. taking photos of my feet.. hehehe. and my little critters of course :D
daddy came in just before sunset and played with tristan and tiff :)
the sunset was so lovely.. never seen anything like it! the hues of the sky were so perfect.
really so beautiful... God painted a masterpiece that afternoon :)
the following day, we went up at around 6:30am and basked in the morning sun.. of course i was still left taking photos :| not that i didn't want to swim.. twas more like that time of the month.. :|
and if you still aren't tired of sunsets, this was the sunset last saturday afternoon :) i really love how the colors blend together!
went back to manila sunday evening :) now that was really relaxing! we're soo excited for April next year.. i promise to myself that i'd go to the beach more often. who cares about getting a tan, i love the water and the sand on my feet! :D

ugh, hubby and i were watching hbo last sunday and it was al gore doing some heavy preaching on something. i wasn't interested at first but when he started talking more about global warming, man, i just started to freak out!
see for yourself.. www.climatecrisis.net!
an excerpt -

If the warming continues, we can expect catastrophic consequences.
> Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years -- to 300,000 people a year.
> Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide.
> Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense.
> Droughts and wildfires will occur more often.
> The Arctic Ocean could be ice free in summer by 2050.
> More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050.

don't you just love to be away for a couple of days, be carefree and not be responsible for anything except yourself?  selfish as it may sound (haha), i really had a grand time being in singapore with my buddies oly, omeng and tania.  metrophoto had actually two e-sessions there, but i was on leave as a photographer, and so oly and omeng pretty much had to work for two days hehehe :P

one thing i like about singapore is that the city is so clean that you can totally walk on your flipflops the entire day and you won't get dirty at all!  the weather is a bit more like manila, though, but a bit more humid.  we probly walked most of the time.. and walked.. and walked.. and walked.. haha.  did a bit of shopping in the hope of finding really good sale items.  i did get a couple from springfield and levis.  pretty cheap stuff compared to manila!
we stayed at the orchard hotel along well, orchard road. hehehe.  here's tania and omeng by the corridor.
and tania posing by the, believe it or not, the bathroom window.. hehe!

walk walk walk did we....
we had coffee and a couple of crazy stories in TCC - the coffee connoiseur along orchard.  i love that this coffee shop is open 24 hours! :)
in one of the e-sessions, tania, myself and micmic strayed from the group and loitered around the esplanade.
and when evening came, we went back with the guys for a metrophoto group hug (or group photo) with singapore's beautiful view of the esplanade and the merlion.  i love that i get to do a couple of long exposure shots too! :)
on our way back to the hotel, we had to make use of nokia's ads in one of the mrt stops and do a couple of photos.  you can just imagine what a nuisance we were to the commuters.  haha!  good thing it was kind of late and we had plenty of time to play with.  i love how singapore is so photographer friendly!
we pretty much did the same thing the coming days.... sleep, eat, walk, shop, eat, shop, shoot, email, eat, walk, sleep... in that order. hahaha.  more photos at my multiply if you want to see the goofballs that we were while in sing :)

just posting some crazy collages of what we did last saturday :-) another week coming... have a blessed one! :-D

I've always loved babies. Call them babies, peanuts, sweatpeas, little people. I adore them all :) That's why I had a superb time shooting today's project. Baby Magazine will be coming out this October with a feature on kiddie parties - Martha Stewart style. As a mom of two kids, I totally love the idea, the concept. I mean, you don't necessarily have to spend loads of bucks for your child's party. You can spark up your child's creativity and pull in a family activity to prepare for party decors, sweets, goodies and other party favors. It's also like steering away from the usual cartoon character themes we always see at parties. It's like you're hitting two birds with one stone - spending quality family time and at the same time, prepare a unique but fun concept for a kid's party that your family can conceptualize! :)

Call time was around 8am and I asked my good buddy ol' pal, Joanne to join me in the shoot. Joanne's a budding photographer, but too lazy to take pictures. Hehehe! I'm glad Joanne came with me and her hubby Jojo also went with us to shoot. Of course, I'm happy to meet Ms. Diana Uichanco, Chief Editor of Baby Magazine. She was looking all nice and dandy in her mint green blouse; with her was Nicole who awesomely crafted the party decors :-) Diana, how can you still look fresh when we're all sticky and sweaty?! Haha :-)
Here are some of the photos taken today. Some of them will come out on Baby Magazine's October issue. :-D
Pretty Mikey all clowned-up for the party!
Yummy party goodies! :-D I felt really tempted to munch on these colorful treats.  Haha!
The children were just so fun to be with!  They were calling me Teacher Rache (hey, that sounds nice... maybe I can teach too? Haha!).  Here's Raffie, Regina and Mari being sweet looking wackos in front of the camera.  So adorable! :-)  Oh and another shot of Mikey right below.
Regina was concentrating on cutting this piece of paper that she was going to stick on one the birthday banner.
And here's Ms. Diana Uichanco, helping out the kids with the party decors :-)
I thought the kids were already tired after shooting for almost two hours.  But I was wrong!  They still had energy to pick on me with their party horn blowers.  Hahaha!  They all ganged up behind my back and blew their horn blowers all at the same time.  Lol!  I had to twist ala contortionist to get this photo.  Lol! :-D
There ya have it :-)  Thanks so much, Ms. Diana and Baby Magazine! We had pure fun :-)  Excited to see the photos when they come out in your October issue :-)  All the best!

came from boracay last week to attend the first dell phils partner conference at discovery shores. it was actually a pleasant trip going to the island.  we took pal express, uy, hindi delayed ang flight :D

i was with my two bosses and my good buddy ol' pal, shielala.  staying at the discovery shores was such a delightful thing.  i mean, hey, where else can you get such stellar service?  bastaaa, everything in this resort was just perfect!  no wonder it costs an arm and a leg per night.  buti na lang our stay there was free (thank you sponsors!) :D lol!
when you get to the room, you get to satisfy yer sweet toothie.. brownies, cookies, butterscotch, etc.. there were fruits din as well and flavored water (so refreshing!)

here's me and my roomie, shiela.  thrilled!  hehe!
after appreciating our room, we had about two hours to loiter around station one.  hehe.  so we walked from discovery shores to station 2 .. bought some shakes at jonas then went to d'mall.  hehe!  it was kinda gloomy that afternoon and the skies weren't all that bright.. perfect time to walk :)
after that quick break, we went na for the gala dinner :)
haha ang aarte :D
our company received a total of eight awards for performing well last fiscal year of Dell :)  praise GOD for that talaga :)  here's us with the Dell team :)

we left boracay on the third day (bitin!) .. i'm happy though that shiela and i got to swim a couple of hours in the morning the day we flew back home.  yes, nognog ako.  thanks to my pride for not putting on sunblock.  haha.  now my forehead is chipping off!!  yakk!
i'm sooo hoping to go back to boracay again next year.. my kids and hubby were so envious and they'd rather go to the beach than go to hongkong next summer.  i guess we're a family of beach bums :D  save up save up now.  got to fill up that piggy bank :D
